Parents using Tali Train
Here you'll find frequently asked questions from parents and guardians who have participated in the 5-week Tali Train program at home.
It is very important. Tali Train is an early intervention program. Research shows that the support of the family or caregiver is integral in obtaining the best results from early intervention programs.
By sharing the training time with your child, you are not only offering them your support and encouragement, you are modelling desired behaviours. An understanding of the program and the parts that stand out for your child offers you the opportunity to use examples to illustrate and highlight your child’s skills and accomplishments in the real world.

The Tali Train program cannot be paused during an exercise. If your child needs a break, we recommend taking a short break between the exercises.
Congratulations on finishing the Tali Train program. Tali Train was designed to be a 5 week intensive attention training program. Our research shows that the attention gains made during Tali Train may still be present up to 6 months after finishing the program.
We've created a What's Next document that will give you some ideas about what you and your child can do to help reinforce the gains made during the training.
Currently, we are in the process of developing a maintenance program to be used after the completion of Tali Train. At this time, we are not able to provide a date of completion for this program. For now, we can only recommend that your child play Tali Train again at least 3 months after their first training. If you’d like to put your child through a second round of Tali Train, please contact us.
We recommend that your child completes the training program as recommended - 5 consecutive days a week for 5 weeks. Tali Train has clinically proven to be effective if used 5 times a week over a 5 week period.

Yes, absolutely. Your child is unique, so only you will know what works for them.
The Tali Train program gives your child a reward after every game to keep them motivated. However, training can be challenging and it needs to be for your child’s attention to improve. For some families, explaining the benefits of the training may be sufficient to keep your child motivated, other families may need additional incentives.
Tali Train was designed for a parent and child to play together. This will ensure you see benefits and helps them to focus and keep on task. The more positive reinforcement you give, the more likely your child will continue to use the program. If you do this for the first few sessions, you should begin to see your child’s focus improve.
If you notice your child loses interest midway or later in the program, we recommend you give them a day off and then reintroduce the program the following day.
Tali Train is designed to be delivered via iOS and Android tablets. You can review our full device support list here
